Windsor Deansgrange get top marks in Irish Independent Review

A Bond-style showroom with a licence to thrill

We went into Windsor Motors of Deansgrange not knowing what we wanted to buy. It did not take us long to make up our mind. We were instantly met by a man who enquired what we were interested in. A sign on the showroom window prompted us to say 'Tiida', a 5dr, preferably 07. We went down in an elevator to survey up to 100 used cars in their underground showroom. He left us, saying he would have a salesman with us in a jiffy.
Gary Hamilton arrived moments later. He said they had two 07 Tiidas. The warm silver version looked nice. One owner, it carried a €13,995 tag. With only 28kms on the clock, the tyres were replaced by the garage with a make we were not familiar with. The car was fully serviced. With no trade-in, he was prepared to discount the car by €2,000.

We ascended from this hi-tech James Bond-like area, realising the only things
missing was the Aston Martin, the gadgets and M' and 'Q'. Arriving in the main showroom we were invited into Mr Hamilton's office. Here he wrote down and confirmed the offer, took our details and attached his business card to the quotation and brochure. They're on their toes there.

We found three toilets maintained to high standards. No new cars graced this showroom. All were priced and carried details. The price of a nice 06 Ford Focus was €12,095; we could have it for €10,600.
Again this was a specimen car. We noted a fully serviced customer waiting area, TV etc. Two teenagers waiting on their parents played 'Foosball' (table football) on the showroom-mounted unit. The reception area was manned. We saw four customer parking bays which were well signed, with one for disabled.

Times are tough right now but when the tide turns this is the sort of garage
that should benefit from the upturn.
It blends futuristic surroundings with professional staff and we will be back.

Servicing your car

05 May 2009

It is important to get your car serviced at least once a year - This way you can:

  • Drive in the confidence that you, your family and other passengers are in a regularly serviced and properly maintained vehicle.
  • One of the first questions you are asked if you trade in your car is "Do you have a full service history?" The reason for this is that a fully serviced vehicle is worth more.
