Be Winter Ready! Government Sets Out Road Safety Campaign 2017/18

It's that time of year again folks when we need to be extra prepared when we take to the roads, be it for the school run, the commute to work, or indeed the daily visit to take care of our elderly. Each November the Government launches their 'Be Winter Ready' 2017-2018 Information Campaign to help us prepare better for issues affected by winter conditions including, health, caring for the elderly and disabled, and of course road safety. This year the launch, held at the National Emergency Coordination Centre in Dublin and chaired by the Minister with Responsibility for Defence - Minister Kehoe, comprehensively dealt with each winter-preparedness issue in turn, including road safety.

The Be Winter Ready campaign has launched a dedicated website, where you can find advice from a number of sources including Government Departments, An Garda Síochána, the Health Service Executive, Local Authorities and the transport providers. The campaign sets out its road safety awareness agenda, and you can download the corresponding campaign poster and booklet here.
