Windsor Welcomes Grant of €7,000 for SPSV Drivers to Move to Electric Vehicles

Windsor are delighted to welcome the recent announcement by Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Shane Ross of a new grant for all SPSV Drivers, aimed at increasing the uptake of new electric vehicles (EVs) in the Irish taxi fleet.

This EV incentive scheme will give Taxi drivers up to €7,000 towards the purchase of a new electric working vehicle in addition to the VRT relief and SEAI grants already in place. These incentives are available for the full range of eligible commercial electric vehicles along with SEAI charger grant schemes, and they will play an important role in helping commercial consumers make their purchasing decision to EVs a reality, not to mention adding to a greater number of Zero Emissions vehicles on Irish roads.

Windsor MD Peter Nicholson Welcomes the Initiative

As pioneers of EV selling to the Irish Market from the outset, Windsor whole heartedly welcomes this new grant scheme to encourage SPSV drivers to switch from diesel to electric driving. Our 100% electric, Zero Emissions Nissan LEAF is the best-selling EV in Ireland, and these incentives mean that there has never been a better time to purchase electric. The New Nissan LEAF comes with an NEDC range of 378 kilometres on a single charge making it the perfect choice for SPSV drivers who decide to follow in the footsteps of the 2,000 Irish motorists who presently drive a Nissan LEAF”.
