Peugeot's new 208 has won the prestigious Car of the Year 2020 title.

The highly anticipated French supermini fought off stiff opposition in a close race with the Tesla Model 3 and Porsche Taycan to win the European COTY 2020 title.

Now entering its 57th year, the pinnacle of motor industry awards was judged by 60 automotive journalists from across Europe who assessed over 30 vehicles to conclude with one winner.

The 208 which comes in petrol, diesel and 100% electric powertrains, took a clear win when the votes from the jury panel were added up. Speaking at the awards ceremony, Peugeot boss, Jean-Philippe Imperato said, “"We love cars, and we recognise the Car of the Year jury is made up of experts, so we are honoured to win. It's a big surprise and a big pleasure for us."

The new 208 features strong, bold styling with a low shape, long bonnet and accented wheel arches. Finished in eye catching, vibrant colours it stands out from the crowd.

Inside, Peugeot i-Cockpit features as standard with a 3D instrument panel, 10” HD touchscreen and LED lighting. You can stay connected via Bluetooth and TomTom Traffic services guide you through an integrated satellite navigation system.
