Our Windsor Renault teams in Dublin, Wicklow, and Galway are celebrating today as Renault's new all-electric car, the Renault Scenic E-Tech, has been awarded the European Car of the Year 2024. The International Motor Show returned after a 4 year break, due to COVID-19, in Geneva, Switzerland where Renault was one of the seven finalists for the competition.
The Scenic E-Tech electric SUV surpassed stiff competition to claim the much sought-after title. The decision was made by a panel of 58 European auto-journalist specialists coming from 22 different countries.
This award marks the seventh time a Renault vehicle has won the European Car of the Year title, with previous winners including the Renault 16 (1966), Renault 9 (1982), Clio (1991 and 2006), Scenic (1997), and Megane (2003).
Renault also announced a new lithium-ion battery version of the R5 hatchback model in Geneva making it a highly successful outing for the Renault team.
The Scenic E-Tech is a fully electric vehicle, its zero emissions, agility, and compact dimensions make it perfect for city driving. Even with its light weight of 1,890 kg, it still offers up to 625 km of range for those who enjoy more rural living and for those who simply need the space!

With the launch of the electric Scenic model, in late 2023, Renault cements its goal to transition to a fully electric brand in Europe by 2030. The brand's achievements were emphasised by Gilles Le Borgne (Renault Group's Chief Officer) in one of his statements during the International Motor Show.
Le Borgne, said: “In 2020 we were deep in the red and a few weeks ago we gave the best financial results ever for Renault.”
