After several years of incredible success throughout Europe in the mid-2000’s, Dacia arrived in Ireland in 2012, bringing a full range of affordable cars to the Irish market. Dacia set out to offer functional, reliable, cleverly designed cars, at affordable prices; a mantra they have stuck rigidly to and seen continued success from.
Dacia started to make its mark on the Irish market with the introduction of its flagship Duster in January 2013. The Duster was and continues to be a robust, reliable, rugged, affordable small SUV, with impressive technologies, frugal engines and optional 4-wheel drive.
The Duster was closely followed by the Dacia Sandero, Ireland’s most affordable and best value car. The Sandero offers impressive cabin space for up to 5 adults. The Sandero Stepway, its bulkier sibling, arrived in November 2013 with all the style of an SUV and all the practicality of a family hatchback.
Finally, the Dacia Logan MCV arrived in September 2013 with its large and practical 573 litre boot. This lineup, with the addition of the Logan Stepway, have continued to see remarkable sales figures in Ireland in the years since. Dacia even caught a niche by introducing the Duster Commercial in 2015, a van alternative of the Duster which proved a hit among small business owners needing to transport a lot of cargo, but not needing the expense of a full-sized van.
Thanks to its increasingly strong brand image, attractive prices and even more attractive cars, more than 21,000 Dacias have been sold in Ireland in the past 7 years.
In 2018, recognising the potential of the brand, Windsor Motors opened 2 Dacia dealerships in Airside, Swords, and Galway. In the short time since opening these 2 locations, Windsor have sold hundreds of Dacias, quickly becoming one of Ireland’s biggest Dacia retailers.
We will be continuing the celebrations well into 2019, with the recent announcement of a 3rd Windsor Dacia Dealership opening as part of the new Windsor Motor Mall, which will officially open for business later this year.
